Here are a few helpful tips for the aftercare and longevity of your tattoo:
You should leave any bandaging on for about an hour to absorb any excess body fluid.
Once you are home and have the bandage off you should gently wash your new tattoo with warm water and fragrance free soap.
Gently towel pat the surface dry and apply a small amount of Aquaphor. (Thin like chapstick)
You should wash your new tattoo and reapply Aquaphor 2-3 times daily for about 3-4 days
After 3-4 days switch to fragrance free lotion in place of the Aquaphor 2-3 times daily or when your tattoo feels dry.
Continuing using the lotion for about 2-3 weeks
DO NOT scratch or pick at your tattoo. It will reach a point where it will flake and itch, a light rub or pat will do the trick.
Avoid tanning beds and direct sunlight for a few weeks. After the healing process be sure to use a good SPF when your tattoo is exposed to sunlight.
Avoid pools, baths, lakes and hot tubs. Submerging your tattoo in water should be avoided for 2-4 weeks.
