Body Piercing Cleaning Instructions

  • wash hands prior to cleaning your piercing

  • use a Q-tip with warm water to clean the area around the piercing, removing any crusty matter

  • use Neil Med Wound Wash Piercing Aftercare Spray 2-3 times daily

  • DO NOT rotate or move jewelry at any time!

Oral Piercing Cleaning Instructions

  • rinse mouth with alcohol-free mouthwash half diluted with water eat time you eat, drink or smoke

  • ice chips and cold beverages are soothing and will help reduce swelling

  • take 2 ibuprofen every four hours to help reduce swelling

What NOT To Do/Use When Cleaning Your Piercing

  • Bactine, alcohol, Hydrogen Peroxide or ANY ointments

  • stay out of lakes, swimming pools, hot tubs or any body of water where your piercing will be completely submersed for at least 2 weeks

  • DO NOT twist, rotate or move your jewelry

  • DO NOT TOUCH YOUR PIERCING FOR ANY REASON other than cleaning it after you have washed your hands

Minimum Healing Times

(each body is unique and healing times may vary)

  • Ear Lobe ~ 6-8 weeks

  • Ear Cartilage ~ 6-12 months

  • Eyebrow ~ 3-6 months

  • Nostril ~ 4-6 months

  • Septum ~ 2-3 months

  • Tongue ~ 4-6 weeks

  • Labret/Lip, Monroe ~ 6-8 weeks

  • Nipples ~ 4-9 months

  • Navel/Belly Button ~ 6-12 months

  • we recommend that you wait at least 3 weeks-3 months to change your jewelry(depending on the piercing) and that you do have it changed by a professional piercer
